Welcome Address
Dear respected prospective postgraduate students, members of FUHSO university community, honourable guests and interested Nigerians, on behalf of our Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Francis Uba, I welcome you to the FUHSO School of Postgraduate Studies (SPGS). The FUHSO SPGS is established to fulfill the Vision and Mission Goals of the university. As the first Federal University of Health Sciences in Nigeria, the FUHSO SPGS shall drive exceptional and novel innovative ideas which shall move Nigeria forward from a Consumer to a Producer Status. Our Postgraduate Theses shall not become archives on bookshelves, but shall drive gown-to-town problem-solving, patentable and commercializable outputs.

FUHSO has established Memorandum of Understanding with THREE top-ranked foreign universities and agencies for teaching and research collaborations.
I am delighted to inform you that FUHSO has established Memorandum of Understanding with THREE top-ranked foreign universities and agencies for teaching and research collaborations. Our Postgraduate students shall have access to the best of university academics throughout the world. In addition, FUHSO already won the prestigious and competitive US-based Seeding Lab equipment grant, which shall provide the university with world-class laboratory equipment for translational research studies.
Furthermore, our Postgraduate students shall have the opportunities to visit laboratories of our partner-universities to carry out world-class research studies where necessary. These are the unique features of the FUHSO SPGS, establishing our university as the fulcrum of Nigeria's quest for moving from a Consumer to a Producer Status.
FUHSO has introduced first-of-its-kind Postgraduate programmes such as Drug Production and Vaccinology, Forensic Accounting & Fraud Investigation, Forensic & Genetic Anthropology, Human & Medical Genetics, Neuroscience, Immunology and more.

You must be capable of independent and critical thoughts, discoveries, innovative ideas and production of original research studies that are Novel, Contribute to Knowledge, Solve Real-World Challenges and have lasting Societal Impact.
Effective Communication with Your Supervisors
You are expected to communicate effectively and share your thoughts and challenges with your Lecturers and Supervisors throughout your studentship.
Be Ready to Learn, Unlearn and Relearn
You must be ready to learn, unlearn and relearn. Hence, you are expected to interact effectively with your colleagues and members of the academic communities throughout the world as appropriate on matters related to your research studies, attend seminar presentations, and contribute significantly to intellectual scientific debates within and outside FUHSO.
